July 2013 - Its official - we are still green!
Great news! GE Starr has passed our annual external environmental audit to ISO14001:2004 with no demerits or recommendations. We are proud to have held accreditation to this standard since 2007. Together with our quality based systems we are working on continuous improvement activities in all areas of the business some of which will benefit our impact on the environment and our carbon footprint.
Our auditor commended us in his report:
"The Company owners and senior management are to be commended for their ethos and pragmatic approach in managing the business, without losing sight of the need for environmental improvement. A satisfactory visit, continued certification of ISO 14001-2004 is recommended".
GE Starr manufactures bespoke metal pressings and welded assemblies from a range of materials so material utilisation and waste reduction is a big part of what we consider in all new and existing jobs. The benefits for cost saving, cost down and price competitiveness for commercial reasons are transparent.
We will continue to monitor our existing impacts and aspects during the coming year and plan further impacts and aspects for control of noise pollution, material savings and machine effectiveness.
