New tooling projects
For metal pressings and assemblies that will be manufactured in house at GE Starr our service includes the design and supply of all necessary tooling including press tooling, jigs and fixtures. We also now source from local toolmakers who have proven their quality and design experience.
We use our considerable experience to determine the most economic operation line up based on your volume, either choosing full tooling or a mixture of manufacturing methods.
Initially we can work from detailed component drawings or CAD files and with the assistance of our design / tool making team we engage with our customers to enhance component and tooling design for ease of manufacture that invariably saves £'s. Should a pressed metal component be changed for dimensions or shape we are also able to modify tooling to suit.
Servicing and repair
All repairs and servicing of our own and customer owned tooling are undertaken, wherever possible, in our own fully equipped tool room and most customer tools are maintained as part of the price package.
Resource package
We can transfer and run your existing press tooling, which we can modify to suit our own wide range of presses.
Prototypes
Prototype parts can be supplied in advance of final component design and tooling release.
